November 2006 Newsletter
Our Parent Board has been very busy as you may have noticed. Our Edaville night was a huge success and great fun for all the children. Thanks to Mother Nature, we had a beautiful night. The thanksgiving baskets are being prepared and raffle tickets are still available in all classrooms. The drawing will be on Friday 11/17.
Our parent board has also organized a shopping trip for our friends and families at Toy r Us in Kingston. The store will be opened exclusively to us. Babysitting for this event or for your pleasure is available from 6:30-10:30 at Cranberry Crossing by Michaela. The service is payable in advance to Michaela and information has been sent home with every child regarding the times and cost.
Santa will be visiting on December 20 & 21 and will provide a small goodie to the children. We have asked one of our grand dads to be Santa and he will be happy to if his schedule allows. If he is not available – one of our dads may be.
Sue & Keira's classes will be celebrating Thanksgiving with a feast on Wed. 11/15. Everyone that has signed up will be welcomed at 12:00 with a Turkey dinner. The children are busy cooking and making table decorations and are looking forward to their lunch with you. Any help available to help us out from 9-12 will be appreciated. The upstairs class will have a "bring your lunch day" on 11/20 & 11/21 and are invited to stay at school until 1:00PM.
Our parent board has also obtained 2 families who would appreciate our help this Christmas through the toys for tots' fund. Upstairs a 5 yr. old girl size 6; a 3 yr. old boy sz. 4T; and a 4 yr. old boy size 6x. Downstairs a 2 yr old girl sz. 3T; a 4 yr old girl sz. 6; and a 5 yr. old boy sz 6. The specific items the children asked for are on the boxes in each lobby and must be sent back early December. Remember, unwrapped, new items only. They also appreciated wrapping paper and tape.
We expect the pictures to be back in 4 weeks. We are glad you were happy with pictures this year. Thank you for returning them promptly.
Our adopt a nursing home Halloween cards were happily received and the residents sent back cards to thank the children. We are planning to Christmas Carol at the Tremont Nursing home in Wareham on Sat 12/9. Your children will be practicing their songs and we hope you will attend. More info to follow.
Cranberrycrossing.com and Ch.7 storm force will post our school closings in the event of a snow storm or other emergency. If there is no public school or a delayed opening – there are no 9-12 classes.
We are thinking about a New Years Eve overnight for those interested. At least 2 staff would be here and the cost would be paid directly to them and non refundable. Last year there were not enough children. 8 children Minimum. Let us know.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
